Waste Management & Recycling

  • Place recycling facilities in high visibility areas and encourage staff to recycle.
  • Put up clear pictorial guides to educate staff on how to segregate their waste. These can also be sent via email to inform staff.
  • Plastic recycling - many different polymers exist and only well-labelled plastic containers can be recycled. Be sure to check with your recycling contractor on what categories/kinds of plastic are accepted.
  • Opt for rechargeable batteries to reduce waste.
  • Engage a contractor to collect your used ink cartridges/toners
  • Engage an electronic waste contractor to recycle your unwanted electronic equipment - all electronic components contain hazardous or toxic materials, especially lead and mercury, which causes environmental pollution when not disposed of properly.
  • Recycle aluminium cans - With the same amount of energy used to produce 1 aluminium can from the raw material, 20 new cans can be recycled from their old ones.
  • Recycle glass - Every glass bottle recycled saves enough energy to run a 100w light bulb for 4 hours.
